Llama - medium-sized ungulate mammals from the camelid family living in South America. They are found in the wild and domesticated, valued as farm animals, from which wool, milk and skins are obtained. Also used as pack animals.
Initially, they were included together with camels in the genus Camelus. These include herbivorous animals closely related to camels, with a lighter build than camels, without humps on the back, with a smaller head. Llamas have large eyes covered with long eyelashes on the upper eyelid. They are adapted to life in the mountains and desert areas. They are distinguished by a specific defensive behavior: they spit saliva mixed with food and gastric juice at the opponent.
